Notes from the Under-belly: Week 20

How far along: 20 weeks 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: as of my last appt (18 wks) I hadn't gained anything yet. But I'm pretty sure that will NOT be the case at my next appt, April 7th.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing my jeans with the assistance of the wonderful "belly band".

Stretch marks: Nope.

Sleep: Still going strong! But I do find myself waking up around 3:30 and 5 and have a hard time going back to sleep...wonder if those will be her awake times as well.

Best moment this week: Drew got to feel her move! I was laying on the couch Sunday evening and was able to tell where she was laying and he felt her rolling around and she even gave him a "hello" jab. :)
We also found out she's getting a little boy cousin a few weeks after she's born - Dave & Ashley are having a boy!

Movement: Lots of it! Especially when I eat and lay down to go to sleep. She also doesn't like the seatbelt squishing her.

Food cravings: Nothing too crazy - burgers, grilled chicken, and deli sandwiches (turkey, egg salad, tuna salad).

Gender prediction: Its a GIRL!!!!

Labor signs: No, thank goodness.

Belly button: still in

Wedding rings: still on

Milestones: Our baby is now the size of a canteloupe and can suck her thumb, is making some meconium (her first poopy diaper - yay!), and is half-way done!!!

Spring has arrived!

The weather was beautiful here today so we decided to take full advantage of the fact that Drew and I were both off work and spent most of it outside. We did however, spend about 30 minutes in an ultrasound making sure our baby is growing as she should....that's right - SHE. We are having a little girl in August!!!! I think Drew was initially freaking out inside (and a little on the outside) but is getting really excited to have a "daddy's girl" and experience having a daughter. I couldn't be happier! I love having a son, but am really excited about having a daughter and all the fun accessories she'll come with. :)
Anyways, aside from that fun Drew and Cash got some fresh fades courtesy of my dad and we showed them off at the park while enjoying a picnic lunch and the beautiful sunshine. I'm pretty sure Drew needs to build Cash a swing set now, since he thought swinging was the greatest thing in the world!

Hello, again!

Its been awhile! I guess I've been waiting on something new, exciting, funny, or thought-provoking to happen and spur on a post idea. But unfortunately that hasn't been the case...or if it did happen, I missed it! So for now, you'll have to settle for some pictures that kind of wrap up the last month or so...

Cash is no longer bound by some silly infant carrier! He's a big boy! And as you can see, quite excited about that.

Such a handsome face! Don't worry - he's getting a haircut tonight!

Drew and I have been married for 2 years now! We celebrated by going to dinner and staying at the Hilton downtown for an evening! It was a great time of relaxation for us, but we missed Cash a LOT! Cash loved staying at Memaw & Papaws for the night and did great!

Before leaving for our anniversary dinner, Drew wanted to get a belly picture. So here I am at 18 wks.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Notes from the Under-Belly: Week 14

How far along: 14 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: 0

Maternity clothes: Not yet. I'm in the "in between" stage where my jeans button, but are uncomfortable and if I try the rubber-band trick I'm constantly pulling my pants up.

Stretch marks: Nope.

Sleep: Is my best friend!!!!

Best moment this week: Feeling normal again! I'm starting to get my energy back and have a HUGE appetite (hence the Taco Bell blog).

Movement: I'm pretty sure I've felt a few flutters here and there. :)

Food cravings: MEXICANO!!! Whoppers, chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-a, and CHOCOLATE!

Gender prediction: Still feeling pink!

Labor signs: Nope!

Belly button: still in

Wedding rings: still on, and still pretty loose

Milestones: Our baby is the size of a lemon (3.5 inches) and can wiggle her little toes and is busy breathing in the amniotic fluid (and urine. Eww!).

Just a little eye candy...

I'll have a little Cash with a swirl on top, please.

He figured out how to get over to his toy basket and pick them out for himself!

His "new" smile.

9 months old today!

Making a run for the border...everyday

Since tomorrow is my first official day in the 2nd trimester, it makes sense that I'd be so food-obsessed this weekend. My friend, Meagan, was recently self-diagnosed with BPS - Bottomless Pit Syndrome. I think I caught it from her! (Actually, I guess I caught it from Drew....bahaha!) Anyways, it seems like I wake up thinking about food and go to sleep wondering what I'll eat for breakfast. Pure madness, I tell you. Although a pleasant change from the "nothing sounds good, it all makes me wanna puke" phase from a few weeks ago. I'll take it!
And apparently The Deuce loves her some mexican!  While dad was throwin' it down in his sermon yesterday (which was REALLY good - he's on fire these days!) I was wiping my mouth as it watered over the thought of chicken tacos from El Rodeo. But my BIGGEST craving is for none other than....TACO BELL.  I want it all - mexican pizzas, cheesy fiesta potatoes, zesty chicken bowl, cinnamon twists. And a medium Mt. Dew, please.
I decided to do a little research online to see how many calories are in some of my TB favorites. By the way - does anyone else think it's kinda weird that fast food places have websites??? I mean, it was handy for the nutritional value but seriously? What else do they need it for? Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised to find that some of my favorites really aren't that unhealthy for you. Sure, there are probably better choices I could make but for a fast food place (and one with such a bad rep at that) it's not too shabby! Although they didn't have a listing for a mexican pizza...that could be the kicker. However, they have raised their prices! Holy Toledo! It cost me almost $7 for a mexican pizza, taco supreme, and medium mt. dew.
Anyways, I realize this post has no real substance and if you've made it this far - we must be really good friends. So for family checking in here's a quick update:

  • Cash is crawling! He's also saying Hi, Hey, Dada (even when I ask him to say Mama), Yay, and when you put him in his high-chair he says "e!e!e!" which sounds a lot like eat.
  • The Deuce is doing great - heard the heartbeat again last week, 146 this time and measuring right on track!
Ok, the kid is sleeping so I'm gonna get cleaned up so we can get outta this house and enjoy the spring weather! And possibly hit up the TB drive-thru... ;)

Notes from the under-belly: Week 11

How far along? 11 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: -8 lbs

Maternity clothes: Not yet. And since everyone I know is pregnant I'll be forced to purchase my own maternity clothes this time.

Stretch marks: Nope.

Sleep: In bed by 11pm, sleep until 8:30am. I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night and its been hard to go back to sleep the last few nights. Very frustrating.

Best moment this week: Relief from the all-day nausea. Now we only deal with it in the evenings.

Movement: Not feeling anything yet. I've thought maybe a few times, but I think its just gas. :)

Food cravings: Any drink that is SUPER SUPER cold with lots of ice, grapefruit, fruity candie, kool-aid, jello, PASTA!!!

Gender prediction: I'm feeling girl this time. But sorry - you'll have to wait till August to know for sure! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Labor signs: No way.

Belly button still in or out: still in.

Wedding rings on or off: very loose right now! Probably bc its so stinkin cold outside!

Milestones: Our little booger is the size of a plum now, can move his/her hands on command, and has gained sensation in her little palms so she's busy exploring her little water-world. Amazing!
